SV2G coordinated and delivered their first annual Wycombe Community Festival on Saturday 9th September 2006 at Hamilton School, High Wycombe.

The community were treated to a selection of dance and musical acts showing the different cultural influences in High Wycombe.  There were African dancers and drummers in traditional dress; tasty Caribbean and African chicken and fish dishes ready to serve up to the hungry public.

Stalls offering facepainting and other fun attractions were set up in the school playground as well as information points for those interested in different cultures.

All the money from the family fun day went towardes the mayor’s appeal which is the Chiltern and Thames Valley Air Ambulance.

Wycombe Steel Orchestra were the centrepiece at this family event and had just been given an award from the National Lottery Heritage Fund.  This event was their first big performance to the public.
