People from across the UK packed into the Wycombe Swan to listen to a wide range of music performed on the Steelpan instrument to mark the instrument’s 40th year in UK schools.

Making History in High Wycombe with SV2G
On Monday 27th July 2009, Wycombe Steel Orchestra made history by being first in the UK to take the Steelpan graded examination in a joint project run by SV2G and the University of the West Indies (UWI).

International Conference to Celebrate 30 Years of Independence
In June 2009 over 100 Vincentian Nationals attended a conference in High Wycombe hosted by SV2G and Bucks New University. This event formed part of a wider programme being held in St. Vincent and the Grendadines, by it’s government, later in the year entitled “VincyHomecoming”. The events celebrated the nation’s Independence from British rule 30 years ago.
